New Moon
When in the New Moon, the moon reflects no light from the sun. It doesn’t guide our way or give light to the night. She is void of color and appears to be dying. Women gathered during the New Moon because their cycles were synced with her cycles. Men shunned this time and feared what the women were doing all cloistered together. It became known as a witch’s moon because men feared the secrets of those three nights. As dark as it was, men forgot to look up into the heavens to see the glorious display that awaited them when the moon cast no light to spoil the view. For when the moon is dark, the stars shine their brightest. The heavens are awash with the brightness of the stars that can finally be seen and not overshadowed by the brilliance of the moon. So for these three nights, this yarn is available to remind you of the wonder that a dark night sky can bring. That is the secret that the men failed to see. Witches don’t need dark shadows to do their business.

Note: While the mill states that some bases are machine washable superwash yarn, this is a hand dyed product. The dye was completely exhausted and the water ran clear in the rinse process, however, some bleeding may occur with different detergents and water quality. We highly recommend hand washing using a wool safe wash such as Soak and drying flat or line drying.
When quantities are out of stock, they will be dyed to order and shipping may take 3-14 days.

All attempts are made to show our yarns in as close to their actual colors as possible. Colors may vary depending on monitors and lighting. Some yarns (such as those on Mohair) will come out muted and speckles will be more of a watercolor effect or have a sheen due to their fiber content.
